The Agricultural Institute of Marin, formerly Marin Farmers Markets, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that operates seven Certified Farmers Markets in the Bay Area and represents over 400 regional family farms, specialty food purveyors, and artisans. Our mission is to educate the public about the nutritional and economic benefits of buying locally grown food directly from farmers, and to connect and support communities and agriculture. We are committed to quality over quantity when it comes to farmer markets and are working diligently to build the most productive markets for our participating members, that best reflect and support the communities they serve.

Marin Farmers Markets have grown over the years. It became a market for the elite, but in response to the economic downturn, it is reforming itself to meet the needs of "regular" folks who value REAL food produced locally. THAT is what I call RESPONSIBLE!
