We are a renowned bed and breakfast homestay in Anchorage, AK, established in 1974. In the past we have offered fresh eggs from our free range chickens. However, bears and neighbor's dogs have continually slaughtered our laying hens. We take pride in serving wholesome breakfasts to our guests and rely on locally produced foodstufts whenever it is feasible. A seasonal "Farmer's Market" is less than 5 miles from our location. We support the organic farmers as much as possible. Although we have 5 acres of land it has been a challenge to successfully bring our own crops to harvest. Wildlife abounds in this area and our resident moose can sail over six-foot fences and enjoy any crop we cultivate, food or flowers. We enjoy the wildlife and our B&B guests appreciate seeing the moose, bear and other animals in a natural setting. Unfortunately this does not blend with our laying hens and fresh produce so we rely on locals to supply our grocery needs.
