This beautiful colored alpaca roving is a beautiful blend of two of our huacaya females fiber - Sajama and Urubamba. I decided to dye some rovings just for fun and this is one of the colors I thought would make a nice yarn -- for knitting a summer sweater or perhaps yarn for a baby blanket. Also, alpaca rovings can be used for craft projects or needle felting projects. The uses are endless for those fortunate enough to be crafty! Check out some of the other fun colors on my list.
This package of roving sells in 4 - 1 ounce balls for convenient spinning (washed, carded and ready for spinning!).
Alpacas produce and provide to us a very soft fiber that is hypoallergenic. Alpacas do not produce lanolin like sheep do, so most people can wear alpaca even if they are allergic to sheep's wool. An alpaca's fiber is soft, light weight, and very warm, making it a very popular natural fiber.
