This yarn comes from our alpaca named Conan. He is a suri alpaca and has produced a wonderful yarn for us. The skeins are all 200 yards, 2-ply and light worsted. Each skein weighs about 2.5 ounces.
Alpacas produce and provide to us a very soft fiber that is hypoallergenic. Alpacas do not produce lanolin like sheep do, so most people can wear alpaca even if they are allergic to sheep's wool. An alpaca's fiber is soft, light weight, and very warm, making it a very popular natural fiber.
