Alpacas of Harkney Hill

Alpacas of Harkney Hill was founded in the middle of a forest by two New Yorkers looking for a change. We now have a herd of 21 alpacas in browns, black, greys and white. All of our animals are hand raised and trained to lead easily on a halter, lift their legs for nail trimming and the girls are allowed to roam unfenced and come back when they're called. We sell the animals themselves and are selling raw fiber at this point. We will be selling processed yarns in the near future. We also have a PYO blueberry operation from mid-July through early September (wild, native low bush) and sell cordwood in the fall and winter. We offer farm tours with group discounts for schools, camp groups, etc. We also could host birthday parties. We have hiking trails, unusual geological formations and a lot to interest the younger set. We have three guest rooms in our passive solar home, currently taking reservations for September. We're in the final stages of decorating.

We're currently hosting PYO blueberries. They're the understory of our oak forest - native, low bush - about 10 acres. It's a wonderful outing! I just picked a pint in 40 minutes. We charge $10 per person to pick as much as you like and stay as long as you like. We have 2 new crias (alpaca babies) to meet. Half of our herd is for sale. We're expecting more and don't have enough room! Book your time for birthday parties now!
