Bloom is heaviest in spring and early summer, but may occur at any time of the year. Flowers are pendulous, hanging from the tip of mature canes. The rhizome is not edible, but the leaves are used in folk medicines. The dried leaves and stems can be crumbled and make an enticing addition to potpourri. The rhizomes offered here will be bare-root and have the canes cut off for shipping.
