Alyssum - Carpet of Snow
This variety of Alyssum is noted for its pure-white flowers which are so freely produced in summer and fall as to give the impression of a white carpet. Great for edging, groundcover and for containers.
Sow outdoors in spring in a sunny location with tilled soil after all danger of frost has past. Cover seed with 1/8 inch of soil. Keep moist. For earliest blossoms, start seeds indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Thin seedlings when they are 1-2 inches tall to 4-6 inches apart. Shear off faded summer flowers and fertilize to encourge new growth and more blossoms.
