A beautiful fragrant perennial that looks great in a garden as a background plant since it grows tall and is covered with lavender spikes of color from mid -summer till after frost
This herb is actually not anise nor hyssop . It has a lovely anise fragrance.It is beautiful in cut bouquets with its sweet scent .It is very useful in attracting benificial insects, butterflys and hummingbirds . Used Medicinally for the heart,fevers, colds and coughs . Anise hyssop is native to the midwest.
It's licorice flavor is a tasty addition to more bitter herbs . Anise Hyssop is easy to grow but does prefer sandy soils.
