Applegarth

Applegarth has been raising animals naturally and humanely for over thirty years. Quality of life has been the driving force behind our practice and our decisions. Our pholosophy involves creating an enjoyable life experience for those animals who give their lives for our food. Our products are hormone free, sunlight enriched and free ranged. When medical treatment is needed we use natural and herbal remedies, homeopathy and reiki. We use allopathic practices as a last resort and only when we deem it necessary for the humane treatment of the individual animal. At Applegarth, a visitor will find friendly goats, sheep, heritage cattle, heritage hogs and horses. We also produce poultry, fresh eggs and have a user friendly vegetable garden (in season!) Our products are available as individually purchased items or as a "share" of the farm produce. A family share, for instance, provides half a steer, half a hog, one lamb, 20 fryers and 40 dozen eggs. And we can always adjust to suit the particular family's needs. Family shares and large orders need to be places in spring. Also available at Applegarth are tanned lamb skins, wool mattress pads and comforters, fine silver grey wool yarn and fleece. We have breeding stock Cattle for sale; British White Parks, Simmentals and cross breeds. Applegarth is open to farm tours and visits by appointment, due to our work schedules. We welcome all to come to the farm see how the animals are raised. We are also welcoming internships for certain months of the year.
