Maine Audubon members, join Registered Maine Guide Gary Roberts Maine Audubon Membership Manager Debbie Atwood as we explore the woods and fields of Deer Foot Farm. The snow has receded and spring is awakening! We'll look for signs of emerging plants and animals waking from their winter sleep, and watch for migratory birds that are returning to their summer habitats.

Deer Foot Farm is an 82 acre family farm in Appleton, Maine. Appleton is a small mid-coast town known for its scenic Ridge Road that passes through large blueberry barrens, as well as spectacular views of the western side of the Camden Hills.

Deer Foot Farm sits above Sennebec Pond and the St.Georges River. Its fields and woods are host to many native Maine animals including deer, snowshoe hare, porcupine, coyotes, fox, and both red and southern flying squirrels. Along the farm fields you can spot Bluebirds, Indigo Buntings, Bob-o-links, Phoebes, Hermit thrushes, and a variety of warblers.

So join us for a leisurely mid-morning walk and, if you're so inclined, linger for a hearty lunch at the local "Come Spring Cafe".
