Our honeybees collect pollen from thousands of acres of Sonoran Desert wildflowers and shrubs such as mesquite, palo verde, acacia, ironwood, saguaro , barrel , and cholla cacti, and various Arizona desert wildflowers.
We use pollen traps on our honeybee colonies which collect a portion of the bee pollen our bees collect. We turn off the collection mode on the traps every other day so that our bees will still have plenty of pollen for their colonies.
Bee Pollen is one of the purest natural foods and contains all the amino acids, vitamins, and minerals required by humans. Arizona bee pollen consists of up to 35% protein and 10% sugars, as well as carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins A, B1 , B2 (riboflavin), C (ascorbic acid), plus many others.
Many of our Tucson customers buy our locally produced Arizona bee pollen and honey to help combat their allergies.
We have fall pollen which is yellow-orange in color and spring / early summer pollen that is yellow-green in color. The spring / early summer Arizona bee pollen is sweetest in taste.
