The Elephant Heart Plum, grown primarily in the California region, has a unique smooth, dusty-white skin. The flesh is a consistent, dark ruby red, which is why it often bears the name "blood plum." When perfectly ripe, the meat is so juicy that resembles more a beverage than a fruit. Its soft, tropical flesh bears a rich and distinctive flavor. The skin has a tart, berry flavor.
