The Sheepnose Pimiento is a watery chile pepper with a rich meaty flavor. An Ohio heirloom plant, the pepper is filled with a mild, tangy flavor and rates at 0 on a 1-5 heat scale. The Sheepnose Pimiento is generally used for canning and cooking.
At Balanced Harvest Farm, located in Carmel, we're offering a 16 week CSA Program in 2011. Distributions will begin the week of June 12th. We offer a seasonal array of herbs & vegetables from Arugula to Zucchini in a weekly VegBox. Everything we sell, we grow. It's all locally produced by our family and picked fresh daily. We are a family run farm located in the Southern Missouri / Northern Arkansas area. Our area of the country is rich in heritage. People of the Ozarks are known for Folk Art and creating things out of necessity. Gardening is also something done in this area out of necessity.
Our art and farm are our only means of support for our family. It is not a hobby for us. We take pride in what we do. We farm and create our art with love and passion.

We are a very small, urban farm, right in the heart of Austin. We are located about a mile east of the state capital building on land that was first used to grow food over 100 years ago! Currently we offer heirloom produce from September to June. 3 times per year we have Freedom Ranger Chicken. Our biggest annual project is our Heritage Turkeys we offer once per year for Thanksgiving. Our breeds are: Narragansett, Bourbon Red, Royal Palm, and Broad-breasted Bronze.
