Hailed as one of the richest sources of antioxidants in the plant world, Desert Oregano (sometimes called Mexican Oregano) can be used both medicinally and in cooking. The leaves of the plant boast a sweet flavor that can be used to season fish and meats. Seri Indians today handpick this wild herb by raking the leaves with their fingers, thus ensuring the plantā??s ability to reproduce. Since the harvest is virtually a pruning process, Desert Oregano is a truly sustainable crop
