The Delaware Chicken is a dual purpose chicken that produces good meat and eggs. In 1940, George Ellis originally produced this chicken calling it the Indian River Chicken. This almost entirely white bird was once one of the most popular broiler chickens in its area. Starting in the late 1950's, the Cornish Rock cross came to dominate the industry. We use no hormones, antibiotics, steroids or additives in raising our cattle and we employ low stress handling methods in working our animals. We are a small, family farm utilizing ORGANIC practices in raising our food and animals. We have a mixed flock of chickens and sell brown, green, white and chocolate eggs in a mixed (not graded) dozen. Our chickens enjoy spending their days out on pasture that is free from pesticides and herbicides, and roost in their coop when the sun sets at night. We raise pastured, rotationally graised meats. Eggs are available year round. Vegetables, grown chemical free in compost, are available for 26 week CSA beginning in mid-May. Chicken is available whole, fresh (never frozen) from June through November. We have turkeys available for Thanksgiving. Beef is sold by the side (about 100 pounds) and pork is available by the side (about 80 pounds).

Sunnydale Farms offers a diverse line of produce every month of the year. We are proud to grow everything that we offer and do so without the use of pesticides or herbicides. We are a non profit company that hires students from a private Christian boarding academy. The students are part of a work-study program and the money they earn helps them pay for their private education.
