The rich, reddish-black plumage and red comb of the "Old-Type" Rhode Island Red chicken is an iconic symbol of American agriculture. It is a successful dual-purpose bird, and an excellent-tempered farm chicken, with a highly productive brown egg-laying rate. Since the 1940's, the Rhode Island Red has been selectively bred for more efficient egg production, becoming smaller, lighter colored, and less broody as a result. Of greatest conservation interest are the "Old-Type" Rhode Island Reds, which are larger, darker, and more broody. The "Old-Type" Rhode Island Red chicken has an incredibly rich flavor that is most appropriate for (and best released in) stews

We LOVE what we do! Our produce is grown without pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. We always have fresh eggs! (brown, white or green) We also raise Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats and Boer Meat goats.
All of our animals are raised humanely and as naturally as possible. This land has been in our family for well over 60 years.

Myers Hilltop Farm is a small family farm located in south central Kansas. On our farm we raise heritage animals and heirloom vegetables.
We offer free-range eggs mostly from heritage chickens, usually spring thru fall. Our hens have the run of the farm and the eggs are delicious and nutritious.
We have beef cattle and a few dairy cows that range on our natural and unsprayed pastures.

For over 27 years now I've grown herbs, heirloom vegetable seedlings, flowering plants, perennials, shrubs, and a few types of trees (so far!). I also raise "naturally-grown" produce (formerly known as "organic" until Government intervention) as well as sell hormone-free eggs from uncaged (and very happy!) hens.
