The Canada Crookneck Squash is a bottle-shaped winter squash with a curved neck, weighing between two and four pounds. The interior flesh is creamy and not at all stringy, with an excellent sweet and nutty flavor. It is an ancestor of the modern Butternut squash and is cultivated in New England and the Northeast. Currently, there is only one remaining commercial source of seed, making this variety highly endangered.

Our year-round operation features heirloom varieties grown in raised beds within high tunnels presently on 1/2 acre of our farmstead. We strictly follow organic and eco-friendly growing practices. For example, soil block seedling/plant starting in our greenhouse eliminates the use of plastic tray inserts.
Located on the beautiful Missouri River in Montana, we operate greenhouses 10 months a year and outdoor garden operation with specialties in edible flower baskets and Heirloom Tomato starter plants in the spring, Heirloom Tomatoes througout the summer and early fall,a vast variety of herbs and in the fall, Heirloom Winter Squash .

Old Thyme Farms is located in the university town of Oxford, Mississippi. Currently we have 2 farm locations (multi acerages) under cultivation. We raise heritage breed hogs (Tamworth and Berkshire), hair sheep, herbs, gourmet mushrooms and produce (mostly heirloom). Our market started in East Tawas in July of 2000 with only a handful of vendors. We are proud to announce that by popular demand, we now run twice weekly! Our second location is in Oscoda-AuSable at Shoreline Park on US-23 at the river. Our Saturday location is in East Tawas at the corner of Sawyer and W Westover, one block off US-23 near the library.
The Middleport Community Farmers Market runs May to October each year from 2:00pm to 6:00pm every Friday at the parking lot of the Middleport Family Health Center and Wilson Farms on Route 31 in Middleport, NY. Please visit us for fresh produce picked right here in Western NY. All farmers are bona fide to the standards set forth by the State of New York and the market is certified with the USDA, NY Ag and Market and the Farmers Market Federation.
