This heirloom is not actually a cherry, but rather a small ground tomato. The fruits were recorded in horticultural literature as early as 1837 in Pennsylvania and are still common today at roadside stands in late summer. This outstanding Polish variety is prized for its clean flavor, with hints of vanilla and pineapple. Because of their high pectin count, the Ground Cherries can be used for preserves, pies, over ice cream or in fresh fruit salads.

We've decided to hang up our farmer hats for the a while. Thanks for your support, and keep on living locally! Torpland Farm is owned and operated by Ann and Richard Torp. We began farming in 2010 to put our commitment to healing our food system into action. In 2012, we began a new partnership with Our Garden in Volo. They have a 17-acre family farm on Rte 12 in Volo and are transitioning to natural growing practices.

Tonnemaker Family Orchard is a 126 acre fourth-generation family farm in Royal City, WA (southwest of Moses Lake). We are Certified Organic and have over 400 varieties of fruits and vegetables. Our specialties include heirloom tomatoes, unique summer squash, heirloom and specialty melons, cherries, apples, and around 250 varieties of peppers. We sell our produce directly to you at our farm stand, which is open June through November, and through farmer's markets.
