Chalk's Early Jewel tomato
The Chalk's Early Jewel tomato is about 3-4 inches in size and produces early, in about 60 days. This tomato was originally developed by James Chalk of Norristown, Pennsylvania and made its debut in 1899. It was commercially introduced in 1904 by the Stokes Company. Chalk's Early Jewel's exterior is deep red in color, with a meaty and tender interior. When eaten raw the Chalk is quite juicy, with a great acidity, and manages to give hints of spiciness without being sour.
