Ashten's Restaurant is a local tradition in downtown Southern Pines and 1st Place winner of the 2010 Best Dish North Carolina restaurant competition in the Fine Dining Category. Serving "Global Cuisine from a Southern Perspective" North Carolina native Ashley Van Camp and Chef de Cuisine, Matt Hannon create a diversified menu utilizing the best of local produce, meats and cheeses. Working one on one with local farmers, Ashten's is able to offer their customers just picked asparagus, shitake mushrooms, tomatoes and greens as well as free range chickens, grass fed beef and heritage pork. Ashten's Artichoke Heart "Pops" stuffed with local goat cheese and fresh herbs have been a menu staple for years. The chefs at Ashten's believe that buying produce from the local farmer whenever possible is not only good for the community and the environment, it just plain tastes better!
