Aunt Em's Urban Inn+Farm - we are an Inn connected to an Urban Farm - a new hybrid travel experience located in the heart of San Francisco. Our goal is to educate the many tourists who come to San Francisco on the issues of sustainable urban agriculture. Many of our guests marvel we can fit so much edible growth into such a small space. Many (I would say most) are not familiar with recycling concepts - how to sort refuse, how to make compost from food debris, etc. One great example is that in San Francisco, we don't call garbage "garbage" - it's now "landfill"!

Our business could also serve as a model for the economic viability of a small urban farm. The Inn supports our educational endeavors - we teach our guests about recycling, how we are organic, do compost, plant green manure and encourage beneficial insects as an alternative to chemical use.

The space is a tranquil oasis in the middle of a busy, sophisticated city. Guests can sit beside our pond with waterfall and watch with awe the many wonders that unfold on our small micro urban farm.
