Bar None Ranch

Our chickens are raised in long, lush grass, out in the sunshine, and are moved daily to ensure cleanliness. Our birds are fed grass and locally grown grain. We don't use antibiotics or artificial hormones. We treat our animals as we would want to be treated. They are processed humanely in a small, family run, New York State Certified Poultry Processing Facility. Available June-October.

Bar None ranch has been in our family since 1912. It was a working dairy from the 1850's through the 1970's It sat fallow until 2005 when we moved back to live on the farm. We are proud to raise our son (the 5th generation) on the farm in a house 20 paces away from his great-grandmother.

Birds for Books is a program run by Bar None Ranch, in which we distribute chicken through local libraries, donate a portion of our profits to the library's children's program, and do a presentation for children about pasture-raised chicken, and where food comes from.

Our goals are: 1). To raise high quality, healthy, flavorful, clean meat as locally as we can. 2). To foster a sense of community and learning around local food and farming. 3). To teach the next generation about where food "comes from," and how to eat to support the environment.
