The Sherman Heights Community Center has begun it's weekly open-air market called the Barrio Marketplace in the Sherman Heights Historic District. The open-air market takes place every Saturday from 9:30am to 2:00pm on Island Avenue (Between 22nd and 24th Street). The Barrio Marketplace (BM) creates the opportunity for community economic development and cultural exchange. It also provides a venue for the sale of fresh, affordable and culturally appropriate food as well as retail products.
