Start seedlings inside in February or March with your heirloom tomato plants. Do not transplant outside until all danger of frost has passed. Pinch back top leaves before plant goes to seed for maximum basil leaf production.
Plants grow to 18" tall and will blossom by September. May re-seed itself or harvest seeds before first frost.
Basil is the primary ingredient in pesto; there can never be enough basil!
