The market is organized and operated by the Battle Creek Farmers Market Association, established in 1980. Previous groups have operated a market in the downtown area since 1895.

During 2013 market season the market has averaged 30 vendors on any given day, offering with a wide variety of fresh Michigan grown vegetables and fruits, meats, artisan cheese, eggs, flowers, baked goods and quality local crafts. Community, youth and service organizations are encouraged to participate in the market to promote their organizations and conduct occasional fund raising activities. Covered parking is available for market patrons in the Hamlin Avenue parking structure, the first hour is free!

Live music has been a frequent pleasure at the market with the Festival Market Square Music Series. Sponsored by the Battle Creek Downtown Partnership. the music can be enjoyed on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:00 in July and August at Wave Park while Festival Market Square undergoes renovations. Performers are invited to contact the market directly should they want to share their musical talents.

It's all locally grown and tastes great. The market is big enough to have a great selection, but small enough with close parking that I can be in and out quickly if I only have a couple of minutes.

I love the selection of products available at the Battle Creek Farmers Market! There's produce, baked goods, meat, flowers, eggs, honey and more.

Everything's home grown.... [more]
