We are a small two-person, 5 acre farm. We bought the land in August of 2006 and have been nurturing the soil back to good health by planting cover crops and green manures. We practice intensive farming and use mostly hand tools, other than a small tiller and an old Sears riding lawnmower that is our 'tractor'. Each crop is weeded, thinned and harvested by hand. We currently sell a variety of 5-10 crops at 3 Farmers Markets, and we custom grow for some restaurant trade. In the winter we grow lots of greens, salad mies, carrots, radishes, turnips etc. In the warmer seasons ( Spring and Fall) we have tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, watermelon, peppers, melon, green beans, and sweet potatoes.
