Bear Claw tomatoes are one of my favorites - they are large, red, juicy, with that great acidy tomato taste! Bear Claws are somewhat flattened and "cat faced" tomatoes. They have that great old-timey strong tomato taste and make the best tomato sandwiches ever!
These can weight up to a pound each under optimum conditions; 10 ounce or so is average.
Bear Claw tomatoes are a moderate producer.
I have always had very good luck with these in very good conditions and also in pretty bad conditions.
Due to the high acid content, these tomatoes are excellent for canning.
If you dehydrate them, the tomato taste gets even stronger, and the dried tomatoes are an excellent addition to soups, stews and chili in the dead of winter, when you need a little reminder of summer.
These are open-pollinated tomatoes, meaning you can save your own seed from vine ripened tomatoes and have plants that will be true to the parent.
Start seed inside at least 6 weeks before last frost date. Harden seedlings off, and move to your garden after all danger of frost has passed.
One pack contains a min of 30 fresh, naturally produced, tomato seed, fresh for 2014 gardening season.

NO pesticides, herbicides or unnatural chemical fertilizers have been used in the production of any product offered in my online store here at LocalHarvest.org
My seeds are harvested and cleaned by hand, and are fresh for the season specified. I never sell old seed. As a result of hand cleaning, there may be some small amount of "natural" material (chafe) included with your seeds, especially the tiny ones. Just plant it with your seeds!
All seeds & plants are produced using natural methods.
