Grassfields land is now Certified Organic! The beef will not be organic because it would double the cost without doubling the quality. They are outside almost all year (average: 360 days) on pasture. They receive minimal grain, their choice of natural earth minerals, and are treated naturally. The beef steers do not receive any grain after weaning age (about 3 months). In the winter, they are still mainly fed the organic grass we harvested the previous spring and summer.
The beef is from our own cows. It is then processed by Little Town Jerky Company into beef summer sausage (where pork fat and other ingredients is added, because our beef is so lean!).
Note: because Little Town Jerky Co. is the only place we've found which will process our own beef for us, we don't have much choice with what they put in the beef snacks, so there are non-organic ingredients in it, including MSG.
ATTENTION: Since we cannot be sure the cheese will get to customers in the warm/hot summer, WE HAVE DISCONTINUED shipping outside of Michigan (or UPS ground 1 day away) as of April 15th.
