Basics of Fruit Insect Management for Small Farms Webinar, February 7, 2013

Fruit crops can be valuable components of a small farm enterprise, as berries, peaches, apples, and other fruits are popular items for farmers' markets, CSAs, and restaurant sales. Protecting them from insect damage and contamination is essential, said Rick Weinzierl, Extension Specialist in entomology. This webinar will discuss the key insect pests of fruit crops in Illinois and provide recommendations on ways to limit the damage they cause. We'll cover life cycles, monitoring, organic and conventional management, pesticide application, and references that provide additional information.

You can listen in from home, but University of Illinois Extension is also offering the opportunity to join others at our Boone County Extension office at 205 Cadillac Court, Unit 5, Belvidere, IL 61008.
