Salamander Springs Farm: Susana's Perma-organics - Berea, Kentucky

Because of popular demand, the 4th annual Whippoorwill Festival will this year include two "Permaculture in Practice" tours of Salamander Springs Farm south of Berea, KY, led by farmer and long-time Permaculture teacher, Susana Lein.

The Whippoorwill Festival every year attracts several hundred people from across the region to rural Madison County near Berea, for 3½ days of camping, good eating, conversation, education, music, dancing and fun in a family-friendly atmosphere. Learn "skills for earth-friendly living," with more than 75 classes, tours and demonstrations. The festival is held at HomeGrown HideAways (Homegrownhideaways.org), a 100-acre farm and eco-friendly campground west of Berea that is tucked away below tree-covered hills.
