Come to central Alabama and experience the region's newest and most exciting farmers market around! The Bibb County Farmers Market opened Friday, June 12 and is open each Friday from 3pm-6pm through at least August 14. The Market is located behind Twix-N-Tween in Centreville, on the grassy lot beside the Centreville Post Office at Olon Heights Shopping Center, 212 Belcher St. (1 block west of 155 Birmingham Highway). Help us celebrate our official Grand Opening on July 3 (PLEASE SEE EVENT LISTING) with music, activities for the kids, refreshments and some of the best watermelons, tomatoes, cantaloupes around! We also have an organic grower who expects to have lots of variety by that time as well. And, oh yes, what would our market be without fresh peaches from neighboring Chilton County! For a fresh update on what's available at the Market, contact the Bibb County Extension Office at 205-926-3117 to sign up for Market Coordinator Helen Dunnavent's Weekly Menu or, contact Market Manager Tim Jones at 334-366-0419.
