These field grown Black as Night irises are naturally grown here at Double R Farm. We use no artificial chemicals on any of our plants. The irises have falls that are a a combination of burgundy and black. The beard is black tipped with a mustard overtone. They are fragrant, and offer an earthy scent to your garden. These irises were introduced by Meek in 1992.
They are relatively care free, and grow to a height of 3 feet. They are profuse bloomers, and will provide you with blooms for months. They will do well in any soil, but do best in moist, rich soil. They also prefer full sun, but will do fine in partial shade.They are easily transplanted, and can adjust to any soil type.
Each order will contain a tuber(s) with fan(s), as well as planting instructions. We ship these irises in late summer through fall, and then again early spring.Tubers shipped are 2-4 years old, and at least
4-6 cm long, with an extensive root system. They are very healthy, and ready to plant in your garden.
