Native,long-lived tree, valuable timber and nut/ medicinal. We started these trees ourselves from nuts grown on my mothers farm.
We also can ship the nuts with the husks on in late Sept ember when they are ready for those wanting to make medicine with them.
The only way you can find these nutmeats are mechanically harvested so the nutmeats are old and like meal. They usually can only be found at Christmas in stores . All nuts are best in the shell . Directions for shelling as well as a recipe is included with the nuts . They keep well, unrefrigerated in the shell for several years .One pound of nuts takes me a half hour to crack and pick out . It yeilds about one cup of nut meats.
I advise, for those who have never used black walnuts, to order a small size first, before placing a large order to be sure you like the taste and can handle the cracking and picking of the nutmeats . The shells are very hard and require a hammer or vice to open .

The shipping on our orders also includes the processing and handling charges which is also less or equal to most seed companies.
