Super Easy Hardy
Dec thru March best planting and rooting
Thorns, trailing vine
Grows in Zones 4 thru 9
Dewberries are early ripening blackberry , sweet flavored berry, maturing in early May, ours start blooming here in East Texas mid to late March. They do have thorns. Very easy to grow, take heat, cold and drought, we simply give them a little compost very early spring.
They are native to North America, and grow wild here on our farm, we enjoy them as do the abundance of deer and birds in our forest.
Super easy to grow. Eat right off of the vine or they freeze wonderful. Simply place them in a zip lock freezer bag.
Great for making cobblers, jellies or jams, our favorite way to eat them is heat them in a pot with just a little sugar till good and hot and pour them over cooked crispy pie crust. We never have leftovers.
We only dig them up when you order them, and we rinse all of the dirt off of the roots, so they are bare rooted when shipped. Should bare fruit the following year. Planting instructions will be included in the package, do have your site ready to plant them as soon as possible.
