Just a quick note to say that we just got the pumkins planted for our fall pumkin activities.
We got finished Saturday 27 June just as the temperature was reaching the 95 degree mark. Later the thermometer said that we got as high as 101. Heat this high puts everything at risk. Most of our neighbors' sweet corn is now at full tassel but the pollen can burn up in this heat. Hopefully our drip irrigation can keep everything suitable for a good germination and quick start.
If you are counting maturity dates then you'll notice that we'll be pushing it for standard 100 day limits.
Keep your fingers crossed for us.
