My name is Andrea DeJesus. My mother is Barba Flores, hence the name Barbra's Farm.
A little Family History. My grandfather started farming long ago around the Junction City Area. As time went on he purchased property on Eureka Lake. This is close to the Airport. My father and mother purchased the farm from him and began farming themselves before I was born. They had different farmground locations in town. In 1989 it was split up between the two. My Mother continued operations at the south location where we are at now and my father continued the operations at the Airport Location. Barbra's farm is nestled between the Kansas River, Wildcat Creek and the Dike. While Barbra continued to grow produce she also expanded into growing flowers. This was a new adventure for her, but one that has turned out very well. Each year it grows and grows. We currently have the largest flower selection in the area. Some people call us the best hidden treasure they've found.
I've been on the farm most of my life. In 2002 I was married. My husband had orders to go to Fort Benning, GA so I moved away from the farm for the first time. Since then I've had kids and was able to move back to the farm in late 2007. It sure feels good to be back home. My boys enjoy farm life immensly.
This is now the 4th generation of family to be on the farm. It is something we are very proud of.
