Hi Ya'll, hope everyone is doing well. I took a break from market last week, whew, i needed the relaxation!  For all local people, MARIETTA SQUARE will not have market this Saturday July 4, due to the parade and all the other Fourth of July festivities! I will be back out there on July 11...if you need something before then just shoot me an email!!  It's getting hot in Georgia finally....everyone try to stay cool and have an HERBY day!!

Lavender

I LOVE LAVENDER.....and the Lavender is still blooming hot and heavy! If you are local, come by the farmer's market on Saturday and pick up some dried bunches, dried buds for sachets, bathsalts, soaps....even a vase with some blooms you can dry yourself (instructions included) !! (You can also purchase some items through my online store as well if you are not local)

I am sad i lost a few lavender plants to the wet spring we had, but i plan to get more going....and even more than i had!  Poison Ivy is ALSO in season, too....don't forget the "Poison Ivy" (Jewelweed Extract) soap....it really helps!  Lots of herbs, Wild Japanese Parsley is a new one, lots of that.  Have baby Culantro (perennial cilantro) but they are not quite ready for market - stay tuned, probably two or three more weeks. PLENTY of Basil: Thai, Cinnamon, Sweet, Large Leaf, Lime, Lemon, Purple Petra and several other varieties. I Love my basil, too!! Got to run for now, ya'll have an HERBY day and hope to see you Saturday at market!!  xxoo  debbie

Market Day

We had another cloudy day today in Marietta, but no rain fell on the market!  It was a beautiful day out there, lots of folks swarming in for their fresh veggies and herbs! I am glad to be a part of the market, it is a wonderful social event every week, and i enjoy helping people with learning to grow their herbs and such. Of course, more often than not, I learn something from them, too!  Just came in from working on transplanting some Japanese Wild Parsley, which has a slightly carroty flavor. Very interesting herb, if you see it you should try some! And a Hearty Thanks to all who come out to the Marietta Square Farmer's Market on Saturdays, you are what keeps us going! I heard a rumour they may extend the market into the fall, possibly through November! Wow! Hope they do....well have a great week, i'm off to plow and plant...!  debbie
