Been planting my garden, and getting ready for the Plant Sale next month...trying to hurry before the grandbaby arrives (May 1 we hope)! Planted some green beans, lima beans, speckled butterbeans, tomatoes, peppers, squash, melons, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, radishes, arugula, and Japanese cucumbers! Herbally speaking we have basil, oregano, lemongrass, catnip, thyme, chamomile, lemon balm, all kinds of mints....just having a blast in the garden lately!  SOOOO glad winter is gone! Care to share what have you planted??  Everyone have a blessed day!

Plant Sale this Saturday in Marietta

Happy Spring!  We had some more rain last night, which we needed (don't we almost always need rain?)  Been digging up the yard for the plant sale.....I am reminding all the locals that the plant sale is this Saturday April 23, please see my page under events for more details!  Lots of perenniels and herbs.....can't wait to see you! :) Have a great Easter weekend!  debbie

Plant Sale and Move soon!

We are getting some more rain here in Marietta, GA - the plants are loving it!  I will be very busy soon, digging up plants and dividing them for my plant sale, and for my move!  I will be moving myself and my business to Dallas, GA in about 6 weeks - approximately 20 minutes from where I am now.  Found a bigger piece of property, with a "clean slate" so to speak! And, closer to my grandson, too!  I will post an event for the plant sale, there will be tons of stuff for sale!  Hope you locals can get over to my place for the sale and get a deal or two!  Be on the lookout for the sale date!

Have  a great day!   debbie

Beautiful Day!!

Hi all, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood today, with the temperature being right at 70 degrees in Marietta, GA!  And sunny to boot! Have been working feverishly these past two days to get the plants ready for the sale tomorrow, and I believe I am ready!!!  Lots of perennials and herbs, and some veggies (tomatoes and peppers) too. By daughter Georgia and her friend will be setting up a booth of baked goods, and i know there are a couple of craft vendors. It's going to be great! Come on out if you live in the area, it's a FREE Event (Band Jam 2009), and donations are welcome of course, all proceeds going to Point of Need Ministries. If you need more info, it's 1955 Canton Road, Marietta, GA, Sat. April 18, 11am until 4pm, lots of music while you shop! Looking forward to a great day, it's supposed to be sunny and warm like today. Hope to see you there!! deb

It hit 72 today!!

It definitely is warming up in Marietta, GA...and I hope for good! It hit 72 today, and the plants in the greenhouse need to come out! Nothing got fried, but a few babies came close. Got to move the herbs out for sure tomorrow morning. It has steadily been warming up at night as well, it's supposed to only go to 49 tonite. As long as i keep an eye on the temps day to day, everything should be ok to move out. I had a request for tarragon today, already. I can tell i need to get some cuttings going. I only have a few tarragon plants coming up in the bed so far for the plant sale, and one is already spoken for! I should have lots more by end of May, though, if all goes well. I'm also working on getting some more East Indian lemongrass going, perhaps i should call mine "Northwest Georgia" lemongrass?  Ha!  Hmmm it's that time of year again...with so much to do, my friends usually know they won't see as much of me from now until the fall, unless they want to come over and help! Ha! Well i did get to see all my kids tonite and little Tommy, my grandson. We had a great time. I've got to run and get my beauty rest now, lots to do tomorrow! Ya'll have a good night! Happy Spring!  debbie
