Looking to Fall

Well the garden is winding down...tomatoes everywhere..more freezing and canning soon!  New [June] chicks are ready to go out with the "big girls" and the rest of the hen population is still recovering from a dog attack last month, where 5 were killed and 2 were wounded.  Sheep fleece has all been sold. Looking through catalogs deciding what plants to start for next [2011] Spring. Will be breeding a dairy goat this Fall...OH what fun!!!!...The 'buckies' are such jerks!

Comments:

Sounds like you need to bring in a trio of predator control dogs that are experienced with poultry. We raise and condition Maremma lgd's. This nonsense would not be allowed by your predator control team. Did you ever track those dogs down to their owners? I hope you were well reimbursed for your poultry, the feed you had put into them, the costs in electricity that you spent brooding them and the labor you invested in getting them to that point. Better yet, you should have been reimbursed for them at what you might have sold them for had the dogs not killed them.
