Local Harvest tells me that I can create a blog. So here we go...
We are in major leaf mode. We have an ad in the paper and collect offered leaves from City folk. We mix the leaves with coffee grounds, llama and horse manure, and kitchen waste. It all goes in layers on the beds for a good 2009 base.
Several layers of newspapers go on the especially pesky weed areas.
We continue to harvest and eat and put up. Brocolli, beets, potatoes, radishes, chard, kale, carrots, turnips, and greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers.
Life is good!
