End of Summer at Oak Hollow Livestock

As summer is drawing to a close at Oak Hollow Livestock, we are busy thinking about and preparing for winter.  We have barns to build, hay to buy, fall shows to prepare for and maybe even a few goats to think about selling in preparation for cooler weather.

We are preparing to build a clearspan building on our property on Happy Hollow Rd for the goats and hay storage this winter.  We will also be drilling a well and working on a plan for power to run the pump.  With some luck, we should have the animals moved onto our property before snow flies!

We will be at the Big E in West Springfield, MA from September 29th until October 1st with our llamas.  If you are in the area, we will be in the Mallary complex and always enjoy talking with visitors.

We are also making tentative plans to attend the Durham Fair in Durham, CT the following weekend.

We are offering a few high quality Boer breeding bucks for sale.  Our bucks are registered and we have both Fullblood and Purebred bucks available.  These bucks are great Purebred sires and also make great market kids with dairy or cross-bred does.  A small investment in one of our Boer bucks will bring heavier weaning weights and more value to your next kid crop.

We will also be selecting a few does to put up for sale.  All does we sell as breeding stock are guaranteed to be fertile and are animals we would keep for breeding on our own farm.  Unfortunately, we can't keep every animal on our farm, so we do have to choose animals to sell - or at least that's what Carl keeps telling me!

We don't sell cull animals as breeders to other producers.  We also guarantee all animals to test negative for CAE, CL and Johne's.  If you are interested in animals we may have for sale, please e-mail us at: csdavis@oakhollowlivestock.com or visit our website at: www.oakhollowlivestock.com
