I have been thinking about the times we live in. Many of us have heard of the depression. Or in fact we have lived through it. We have heard of the recession and lived through it… now what do we call these times? Having put all the pieces together why not call these times the IMPRESSION! Webster’s dictionary describes impression as a: “a characteristic, trait, or feature resulting from some influence <the impression on behavior produced by the social milieu”
Wow does that sum up a lot!
Looking back at all we have learned from the past… not to take for granted so much that we have and don’t really need. Perhaps the difference is in paying cash instead of buying on credit. A life perhaps of Voluntary simplicity, learning to need only what is truly necessary. Together we are building our farms with our arms outstretched connecting what we have to share with each other. We offer food, fiber, soaps, anything you can think of here on Localharvest. We are all sticking to our dreams and building them with the knowledge that times have changed. We have changed. I believe if we learn from our past, think about our present and look forward to our future….. we can truly call these times ….. The Great Impression!
