Has Mother Nature a slight case of amnesia? We are ready for Spring already!!! I am thankful we have a hoop house. I was able to go out and till up a couple of beds in the hoop house. We'll be setting transplants of lettuce and spinach out over the next few days. I will also be planting a couple of raised beds of carrots soon. Have 25 tomatoes ready for transplanting into the hoop house. Soon we will also have cucumbers ready to transplant.
Yesterday we sold our last share of the 2009 Harvest Season! We also received our 600 potato sets, 500 strawberry plants, our back ordered celery seed and cheddar cauliflower seed! Next week we should get the 1944 Farmall H back from the machine shop--we're having a 6 to 12 volt conversion completed and an overall tune-up. Now we just need the weather to be a bit more cooperative.
I bet many of you have Spring Fever like me. Now's the time to get your seeds started indoors if you haven't already.
We hope to have several fun activities for shareholders and non-shareholders alike to participate in. My plan is to post a blog entry every Saturday by 8:30pm. If any of you have questions about planting your own vegetable gardens we welcome your emails and phone calls. We are glad to share what we have learned.
Have a great rest of the weekend!
