Hello,

   My name is Tammy and my husband, David and I have an 80 acre farm we have been turning into a heritage homestead for about 4 years now. I am new to blogging, but think it could be fun, especially with people who possibly think the same way.

  We have Romney sheep, Irish Dexter cattle as well as a flock of about 75 dual purpose chickens. We also have a collection of goats, a few rabbits, a couple dogs, several (o.k. MANY) barn cats and two Appoloosa horses.

  Last year we opened a small shoppe on the property and have done very well. If you are interested, you can check it out at www.cherrycreekfarmshoppe.com . We had a very successful Harvest Weekends during the month of October and hope to expand it next year. Our goal is to utilize the farm for agri tourism in the future. Plans to build some cabins in the woods are already in place and we have high hopes for a B & B in 10 years.

  Homesteading has been quite a change for our 4 children, but they seem to be adapting easily. It sure takes a lot more deliberate thinking, but so far it has been enjoyable. I look forward to blogging more about this in the future.
