It's December 17th - four days till winter's official start and it's freezing in Seabeck today - all week for that matter. Snow covers the ground and ice coats the roads. We're expecting more snow tonight and into tomorrow. First order of business was to make sure all the animals were safe and warm. The dog on his sleeping bag in our bedroom. The cats on the dog bed in the garage. The goats in their pen/shelter, with a fresh bed of straw. And last, but not least, the chickens, in their coop with heat lamp and Christmas music. What? You don't play holiday music for your chickens?
Okay, I guess it's a little strange. But what of it? They don't mind it and we like thinking a little bit of culture makes them happier! Who doesn't love Christmas?
So we're all bundled against the cold, human and animal alike, and we're waiting for Santa. Merry Christmas!
