This was our third and biggest year yet for market gardening at Grinning Planet Farm. We were so pleased with the clover living mulch around the tomato plants that we most certainly will do that again next season.
We've had drought conditions here for the past two years. Thankfully, we have a rainwater catchment system (12000 gal. cisterns) and rainbarrels (thank you Sustainable Berea) to keep our plants happy and healthy.
I'm so thankful to Berea College for allowing the Berea Farmers' Market to take place on their property behind the Visitor's Center. We're there Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:30 until 7:00. Please stop by and pick up your good foods.
I'm thankful for the many customers that have expressed their appreciation for the farmers that set up their stands at the market. It sure puts a smile on my face to be able to bring the harvest to the people and participate not only in helping feed the local people but to also participate in the local Berea economy.
Go Local!!!!
