My dream is starting to happen! We had a very enthusiastic crowd for our first u-pick day! June this year in Montana has been wet and cold, so it was hard going getting things up and "pretty". But Saturday morning came with beautiful weather and it was perfect for being in the garden. As people came through in couples and threesomes, we learned something new about how to make their experience better. Most people were overwhelmed by how big the garden was and how much we had. I guess the booklet that contained the plant guide, fresh herb ideas and drawings of how to cut herbs was good, but a lot to read...so we set up chairs at the "you are here" spot. We had "Herb Catagory" signs at the beginning of the rows so they could refer to their guide and get oriented. I would follow some groups to help them and answer questions-what fun it was!
Next month, everything should be up and there will more organization! We decided to go with 2 days so people could make the farmer's market and our place. Thanks to all the suggestions people shared with us so July will bring even better success!
