The sap is running!

The sap is running!  We are excited to be maple syruping for the first time this year.  We couldn't believe how much sap we had this morning after a warm night.  The buckets were nearly spilling over!  Did you know that it takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon or syrup?  We hope that our 4 maple trees that we are sapping this year will yield at least a gallon or two.  If all goes well, maybe we will sap the whole woodlot next year.  Praise God for another sign of Spring-and the sweet rewards that come with it!
