Lakeview Farm is a family operation committed to providing all-natural eggs produced by healthy hens who are free to forage happily throughout the day and are then put up for the night in portable coops where they rest and are safe from predators.

Our hens will never be medicated, receive growth hormones, or have exposure to anything that is not all-natural.  Our feed contains only plant protein and our eggs are large, with rich yolks and delicious taste.  We stand behind that statement with a 100% money-back guarantee. "The Ladies of Lakeview", our family of hens, are treated with dignity.  Yes, they are production birds, but YES, they deserve to be treated with humanity and to have the chance to enjoy life.  If you had the chance to see them next to the lake, under the sunshine, foraging and playing, you would understand why we have undertaken this endeavor. 

Please do not be misled by terms such as "cage free", "vegetarian fed", etc.  Large commercial producers simply should not be permitted to say that they have "all natural" poultry products when their birds, yes, are not in cages, but are crowded by the hundreds into inadequate spacing and receive some plant protein occasionally.  It's a complete farce which can be validated by visiting these producers' web sites. These birds don't enjoy the light of day, don't benefit from the value of foraging on pesticide-free pasture, and they are not "all-natural".  They just are crowded into open spaces rather than cages.  Hmmm....what is the value in that for you, the consumer, or for the birds and the quality of the eggs that they produce?

We also feel that part of our mission at Lakeview is to encourage others to utilize local producers as their food resource of choice.  Our communities are so reliant upon large commercial grocery facilities that we are failing to understand how buying locally can so significantly help everyone.  In addition, we should consider what to do on the day that the grocery store just isn't open.  The day that we have to rely upon ourselves and determine if we can sustain ourselves locally, as neighbors, as members of a community.  We don't want to have to rely on Wal-Mart.  We just don't.
