Another summer-like day in Oakland!  I'm taking my friend, Jen, and her dog, Roxy, on one of my urban hikes.  I first learned about urban hikes from an ex-boyfriend.  He was a big fan of exerting as much energy as possible, and really, really, just pushing it. I'm somewhere between that and taking a nap.

 Over the years I've made up  my own urban hikes, and this is the first time I'll be taking someone else with me.  Not everyone likes looking at other people's houses, so I  may end up doing the next one alone!  This time: Rockridge.

 And later I'm off to an early dinner party.  Having no idea if the host can cook, I may have to fill up on Cole coffee, and the delicious Vietnamese cabbage and rice noodle salad I made last night.
